This beautiful kitchen is light, bright, and spacious, and it has all the amenities to make it as functional as it is beautiful. Both natural and artificial light are abundant in this kitchen, with approx 32 sf of window space, including a large casement window over the stove. The window area to the right is the perfect nook to park a butcher block island, which can be wheeled around on casters.

As with any good kitchen, abundant fluorescent lighting is provided, both over the sink and over the stove area. The lighting over the stove is custom built and features several fluorescent fixtures that are obscured behind an architecturally correct panel. They produce direct downwards light for the counter and indirect light for the remainder of the kitchen. For color balance, there are also 6 "eyeball" incandescent spots over the sink that reflect off of the ceiling, providing even more indirect lighting.

This lovely kitchen features some magnificent ceramic work, including this full-height back splash with a lovely antique mural of cobalt blue and white. The counters scrub up beautifully with any cleanser.

Do your seldom-used dishes get in the way of every-day storage? This homeowner found an excellent solution, with a second tier of oak cabinetry. Access requires a small kitchen step ladder, which handily stores in the adjacent furnace closet.

You will love using this top quality Jenn-Air oven and range. It features front controls, a powerful, down-draft, through-wall exhaust, an interchangeable lefthand cook surface that can be either a griddle (shown here) or a grill (for broiling steaks), a grease collection system, and a self-cleaning oven mechanism. Not shown in this photo, there is also a powerful wall vent original to the home and in excellent condition.

This kitchen has nothing but the best appliances, all recently installed. The Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher (top) is both silent and powerful, with all clean-touch controls. The trash-compactor (bottom) is also a Whirlpool. If you've never had a trash compactor, it is marvelous for eliminating trash odors. Not shown in these pictures are an under-sink reverse osmosis water filtration system (with a tap at the sink and a plumbing line to the refrigerator area) and an under-sink garbage disposal. The side-by-side refrigerator also conveys with the home.
