Attached Garage

This not-ready-for-prime-time photo shows the layout of the attached garage, which was used as a workshop. Note the 100A subpanel in the back of the garage for the various machinery and outlets in the workshop. (A disassembled mill can be seen between the two doors -- does not convey.) Overhead, note that the garage door is insulated with foam panels. Also overhead is a drop-down ladder for access to the attic. The door on the left of the back wall leads to the office ("mother-in-law bedroom"), and the door to the right leads to the living area. Finally, there is an entry door to the outside on the back of the left wall.
This spacious workbench is extremely sturdy and is of melamine construction. Note the abundant electrical sockets throughout. These sockets (32 in all) are wired with 10 ga wire for extra robustness. They could hypothetically carry 30A, even though they are on 20A circuits. GFCI protection is located in the breaker panel. The large plywood panel above and below the workbench is an abrasive shield. Grinding was done on the opposite side of the panel.
